One man's magic is another woman's religion. Each tradition makes their own division, calling one evil and the other legitimate. World over, no one agrees

lol, yeah. I’ve heard the word “cult” used against all sorts of groups and denominations— usually by those whose own religious persuasion is viewed as eccentric by the general public. I’d love to see the results of a poll on where people draw the line between “okay” and “bad” when examining religious groups other than their own.

"And when leaders claim to hear directly from God, there is no accountability. Only power"

This is the problem I have with evangelicals hearing directly from "God" it is the fact that these messages from "God" are always about controlling other people and never about the spiritual condition of oneself.

As a gnostic christian I too hear messages. The messages from the fragment of The One who lives within me and these messages are only for me and about me and about my spiritual condition or needs. The One never speaks about others or things in the material world like, lol, "voting" or whatever.

I feel like NAR evangelicals are so disconnected from spiritual life that they never really hear spiritual messages, only messages that come from their material world political brainwashing. They'll always have the same things to say and preach, there's never anything new coming from a spiritual place that's just for them as an individual and not about bossing everyone else around.

Just read your latest post…people will always “people” because though they/we strive to save, study or deny the spiritual dimensions, we are all doomed to fail as long as we are mortal.

We are all just guessing which aspects to hold onto…and there is safety in numbers 😉

Politics and religion are equally divisive. They feed off each other and on the bodies of believers.
