Thanks Pets! The fact that all this has happened before doesn't make it any less sh*tty, but I still take comfort. Our ancestors/ancestresses have overcame misogyny in their society, and that's reason enough to hope that we can too.
I’ve been trying to sort this out for a long time. Especially when we have an intentional misogynistic administration.
Some current thoughts:
Life is an infinite set of interdependent relationships that holds both possibility and vulnerability.
It cannot be controlled. Participation is the only way to be present, but it requires vulnerability. The ability to experience vulnerability is our feminine energy (in a man or a woman). Culturally men too often are being separated from that feminine energy. Losing the capacity for vulnerability many men are only left with the illusion of control and a world of objects, not relationships. Nothing in this life can be controlled, which paradoxically creates the need to always be seeking more control. In that world, women become objects along with life.
It is truly is sad that so many men, absent stepping into their vulnerability and owning their feminine energy separate themselves from the possibility, that only the relationships of life hold.
And owning feminine energy does deny masculine energy.
I’m at a place where I believe the experience of vulnerability (mortality, impermanence, change) is what makes “being alive” possible.
This one is with you…
Thank you for another wonderful article. It gives me hope that we can swing the pendulum back into balance.

Beautifully written and compelling, Holly.
Although I’m not a mom directly, I am proud to say that I have 10 nephews born of strong women, and they recognize the power of women.

Just some thoughts.
That may hold possibility.
